The project will focus on the precise modeling of this reaction using the open-source OpenMC code developed at MIT, and the implementation of new physical models for neutron production via the 18O(p,n)18F reaction. OpenMC has the capability to track secondary neutrons and photons which will be used for the validation of newly developed models. Validation will be performed using precise measurements of secondary neutron and photons using recent advanced spectrometer developments at
Masaryk University.

Sustainable Development Goals

Masaryk University is committed to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, which aim to improve the conditions and quality of life on our planet by 2030.
