The proposed research will be focused on characterisation of biochemically modified surfaces of electrodes using advanced scanning probe microscopic (SPM) techniques and application of the achieved results for development of advanced electrochemical biosensors. Both group posses complementary experience:
MU: immobilization of biomolecules is studied, enzymes, antibodies and cell cultures are used and facilities within nanobiotechnology (AFM, SNOM) are available.
UPecs: electrochemical techniques are on excellent level and the applications of SECM are internationally recognized.
