Project information
Developing humour literacy: analysing production, content and reception of humour to bring positive change in the public sphere (HUMLIT)

The project intends to find out how humour is - and can be - used to reframe the conflicts and controversial issues in the public sphere. By employing a complex analysis of humour on different levels (production, content and reception) we intend to show how humour and comedy can bring benefit to European society and which aspects of humour should be highlighted (and which should be avoided) to promote dialogue rather than conflict in the public sphere.
