New Strategies For The Early Diagnosis, Risk Stratification and Co-management of Familial Hypercholesterolemia (FH-EARLY)

FH-EARLY will enable new strategies for earlier diagnosis and co-management of familial hypercholesterolemia . The project works with FH families with inherited cholesterol: parents, children (7-12), teenagers (13-18) and carers to co-create and test solutions. The three interrelated solutions are: a new chip array, enabling easier, cheaper and earlier diagnosis; a signature biomarker assay that provides unique risk stratification and personalized treatment strategies to FH and general population; an integrative precision health profiling (iPHP) tool using explainable AI to model well-defined data flows from multi-modal data in several patient cohorts across Europe. FH-EARLY will help prevent premature coronary heart disease, not only for FH patients, but also within the general population: with potential to generate considerable economic and social benefits.
