Although AUC has been used since 1925, its development is ongoing, and measurement possibilities continue to expand. Research on membranes and membrane proteins is progressing rapidly, and I see a need to implement density matching of detergent micelles and subsequent AUC measurements of samples in a micellar environment. I also plan to incorporate Mass Photometry (MP) into my portfolio, which will be available shortly in our laboratory. This technique allows for the measurement of size, oligomeric state, and complex formation of biomolecules, similar to AUC and SEC, but with approximately one hundred times lower sample requirements. This should open up measurement opportunities for many more research projects. I will collect various samples and conduct measurement trials to become proficient in this technique and offer it to scientists.
