| Description | Professional geography is taught at the Faculty of Geology and Geography at the Astrakhan State University in the full training cycle. They work here three departments: Geography, Cartography and geoinformatics, Ecology, nature use and technical safety, geological sciences. About 60 teachers (the ratio is about 15 students per teacher) take care of the education of students. The faculty staff produced a total of 10 monographs and about 30 publications in reputable journals in the school year 2010/11. The faculty cooperates very closely with the Astrakhan branch of the Russian Geographical Society. The Russian Geographic Society works very actively For the school children. The faculty publishes the transdisciplinary scientific-technical magazine "Geologija, geografija and globaľnaja energia" ("Geology, Geography and Global Energy", ISSN 2077-6322)in the joint Russian and English language version. |
