Description | The article deals with the development of legal history at the Law Faculty in Brno after 1989. The staff of the Department of Legal History has changed since then, currently represented by JUDr. Pavel Salák, Ph.D., doc. JUDr. Karel Schelle, CSc., Mgr. et Mgr. Naďa Štachová, Ph.D., JUDr. Jaromír Tauchen, Ph.D., LL.M, JUDr. Renata Veselá, Ph.D., prof. JUDr. Ladislav Vojáček, CSc. and, working part-time, doc. JUDr. Michaela Židlická, Ph.D, a judge of the Constitutional Court. First and foremost, Department of Legal History runs three compulsory courses within the Master s Degree programme (Czech Legal History, Legal History, Roman Law). Members of the Department also give lectures and lessons under the Bachelor s degree programme and offer some optional courses. For most of the courses the Department use its own teaching materials. Members of the Department participate in several research projects, at the end of 2009 they were awarded a research grant on the topic of Development of Private Law. Two conferences has been held under this project and the individual research results are being presented successively, including a brief book dealing with the development od private law, which was published in English and German. Besides, the article provides the list of other texts published and conferences held by the Department. It also focuses on awareness raising and cooperation with other teams of legal historians. |
