| Description | This article is based on an analysis of documentary material from the Czech lands in selected cases of the aristocratic testaments. Emphasis is given on characteristic features of testament that distinguish it from deathbed gifts and on clarification of the extent to which scholar law, i. e. Roman and canon law, influenced the provincial legal culture and the chosen succession. |
