| Description | The subject of the essay are television series adaptations. It pursues the technologies and approaches employed by television medium to retell verbal (literary) stories in a new audio-visual serial form. The observation includes also the effect that the medium exercises on the final form of serial adaptation and its evolution. Furthermore, the paper focuses on differences between TV series adaptations and other television series as well as film adaptations in order to distinguish the particular genre of classic-novel adaptations, here represented by works such as The Forsyte Saga, Jane Eyre or Sňatky z rozumu. |
