Description | In psychology and medicine, psycho hygiene is understood as a way to maintaingn and strengthen or restore mental health or health by psychological means. Public understanding of this concept is often imprecise and awkward, eventhough it is an important term in health education. The research carried out a controlled standardized interview with 1795 randomly selected respondents aged 15 to 67 years with a mean age of 43 years who indicated their understanding of the term "psycho hygiene". Citizens of the Czech Republic 525 associate with psychohygiene primarily relaxation or distinguish it as a process of cleansing of soul. Approximately 5 % of respondents understood the term incorrectly and did not understand it. Psycho hygiene was refused by 7 % of respondents. Correct understandingof the concept of mental hygiene is especially related to education. |
