Description | Numerous problems are connected with original taxonomic defi nition of the early siphonodellids, which are valuable for fi xing of the boundary between Devonian and Carboniferous period. Several morphotypes of early siphonodellids sensu KAISER – CORRADINI (2011) have been distinguished in the conodont faunas of the Líšeň Formation (Czech Republic, Moravian Karst). The fi rst appearance of the “unusual” Siphonodella sulcata morphotypes was documented in the Lower praesulcata Zone, just before entry of the “typical” Si. praesulcata and protognathodid fauna. It is in accordance with data from Bavaria and the Ural Mountains, where Si. sulcata morphotypes also enter below the Hangenberg Event. |
