Description | The target of the research was to provide mapping of knowledge of the terms NANDA International, NIC and NOC, among general nurses and find effects of the highest education of respondents on the level of this knowledge. Information was acquired by a quantitative research method with the use of a questionnaire. The questionnaire was completed by 161 general nurses. The answers of respondents were divided into categories by the level of the knowledge of respondents in terms of their highest education achieved. The data accumulated were statistically tested with the use of the Pearson test at a significance level of 0.05. There were statistically significant differences in knowledge of the terms mentioned above between respondents having lower degrees of education and those educated at universities. In accordance with our expectation, it was shown that the term NANDA International was most commonly known among the respondents: 64.60% of correct answers. The terms NIC and NOC were considerably less popular among respondents. There was also a small difference in knowledge of these terms: a larger proportion of respondents demonstrated knowledge of NIC (15.53%) compared to NOC (11.80%). We believe that knowledge of the terms NANDA International, NIC and NOC is not sufficient among general nurses, which can considerably complicate the future implementation of the unified nursing language in our territory. |
