| Description | This study brings neo-formalist analysis of functions of music in the film The Firemen's Ball. Chosen methodological approach (based especially on works by David Bordwell, Kristin Thompson and Czech structuralists) synthesises former structuralist attitudes and contains advisable theoretical tools for this kind of analysis. This paper is a contribution to the history of style of Czech cinematography of the 1960s. |
