Description | Case studies showed that stimulation of aggressive behaviour or hypomania can be induced by atomoxetine (TMX) stimulating selectively noradrenaline transmitter system by reuptake inhibition. The aim of present study was to clarify TMX influence on affectivity in mouse model of social behaviour. In agreement with clinical observations, induced aggressive behaviour was recorded in timid mice after acute dose of TMX. In aggressive mice, however, TMX dose-dependently decreased aggression, what has not been described yet. Although TMX is considered safe and effective treatment for children and adolescent with ADHD, caution should be used as its influence on agonistic behaviour is not elucidated sufficiently. |
