Description | The aim of this book is to bring a comprehensive overview to the problem of enterprise ICT system monitoring. It is rather exacting task to keep track on the operation status of distinguished ICS system components and the ICT system as a whole. This book brings both a new scientific approach to ICT systems monitoring based on mathematical modeling and practical examples based on real experiences with large ICT systems operations. Opinions and ideas presented in this book are based on many years lasting experience with large scale metropolitan academic computer network deployment and operations. The metropolitan academic network consists of more than 150 km of fibre optic cables (more than 15000 km of fibre optic lines) with about 90 nodes and several crucial applications like transport and processing of medicine multimedia data (distributed PACS system). The main asset of the book is new scientific approach to event processing based on mathematical models not yet used before. |
