Description | Monitoring the approach of mathematically gifted pupils to solving untadicional tasks showed that as opposed to a majority of pupils in a regular class, gifted pupils solve the task without respecting procedures and their notations learned at school. They find it highly difficult to submit themselves to formal procedures that are often required by teachers or also in pre-prepared pre-printed templates in workbooks. While solving the task, they often apply a sudden idea, intuition and insight. In the contribution, we provide several examples of solving tasks by mathematically gifted pupils in which they showed their skill to implement intuition and insight. |
