| Description | In the history of science, there are many examples where mathematics helped to solve a problem in another branch of science. Such is the case of Mendel’s law in genetics or the confirmation of the structure of alkanes with the use of graph theory. The contribution is part of research on the usability of examples from history of mathematics in motivating students to study mathematics. |
