Description | Laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS) was applied to study the interaction of molten LiF-NaF salts with candidate structural materials for nuclear reactor-transmutor cooling circuit. The corrosion of tests ampoules were performed at 680 C. Molten fluoride salts are examined as a cooling medium for a Molten Salts Reactor (MSR). This type of reactor is used for nuclear burning of radioactive fission products and spent fuel produced by conventional nuclear power reactor. |
