| Description | The article was created as the result of the research oriented at innovation of the content and forms of secondary school mathematics teaching. The article is devoted to Catalan sequence and its elements, so called Catalan numbers. These numbers, although not mentioned in school mathematics (not even at universities), have a lot of interesting applications. The article shows some problems, the solution of which is formulated with the help of Catalan numbers. The shown topic can contribute to developing combinatory thinking of students, which is one of the most important tasks of the contemporary mathematics. |
