| Description | The chapter summarises the major findings of three exploratory studies (N1=1617,N2=106,N3=146) which examine the relations between some of the contemporary theoretical constructs of optimism and pessimism: dispositional optimism (Carver, Scheier, 2002), optimism as an explanatory style (Peterson, Seligman,1982), and defensive pessimism (Cantor, Norem, 1989). |
