Description The article focuses on two sons of the Moravian Margrave Jan Jindřich of Luxembourg: Jan Soběslav and the illegitimate Jan. Based on the analysis of rarely used sources the author shows that historical studies have so-far incorrectly identified and confused these two persons. The illegitimate Jan of Moravia became a prior at Vyšehrad (1368/69), afterwards a bishop of Litomyšl (1380) and finally the Patriarch of Aquileia (1387/88) while his legitimate half-brother, Margrave Jan Soběslav, died at a young age (ca 1381).
