| Description | On the education of geography teachers is directly focused the Sakhalin State University in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk - the capital of the only island administrative unit of Russia at the federal level. Geographical education is currently provided by a team total of 11 teachers of the Department of Geography. They cover all geographical sub-disciplines, ranging from classical, through GIS and cartography to the auxiliary sciences (geology, demographics, etc.). In comparison with earlier years, when studying geography as carried out in a combination with another subjects (biology, German, English language and handicrafts), from the mid-90th years the education is focused purely on geography teachers for primary and secondary schools. Since 2004, the study produced the diploma "geographers-teachers". The school has adopted the Bologna system of education in 2013. |
