| Description | The Lotus Sutra, as one of the most popular and most widely used text in the Asian Buddhist tradition, has gained considerable attention also on the Japanese islands. The presentation will attempt to elucidate mainly its historical context of usage and employment of this universal Buddhist text in the Japanese millieu from a combinatory point of view that will analyze its doctrine and its art. |
