| Description | Ethnopolitical study Roma Politics - Politics of the Roma deals with relations between Roma politics and politics of the Roma. It offers answers to following questions: how is politics done by the Roma in the Czech Republic and to what extend has the Czech politics a possibility to influence the identity of the Roma? The author introduces various issues within the topic of minority politics of Roma people, points to its various forms and reflects circumstances and chanells, which allow for its presence upon the Czech political scene. The book has two parts: theoretical introduction, where Irena Kasparova deals with the influence of the state, cultural specificity of the Roma and political arena of the majority society and a second part, where there are four real stories of current Roma politicians, which illustrate the prior-mentioned theories as lived in daily life situations. |
