Description | The results of method development for amino acid profiling of biological fluids, namely human plasma and urine, were presented. Optimization steps of the method and sample treatment protocol were discussed and the method suitability for amino acid profiling was tested on analysis of human plasma and urine samples. There were analyzed 26 human plasma samples varying in age, sex and diagnosis were analyzed giving highly divergent statistical sample. Principal component analysis showed a partial grouping of diagnoses based on amino acid profiles. Human urine samples were collected from women selected to form a non-divergent statistical sample. There were found statistically significant differences in the levels of amino acids between healthy women and woman suffering from epileptic seizures. |
