Description | This paper examines the information value of statistical analysis of language tests used at the Faculty of Economics and Administration at Masaryk University, developed for the C1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference, in order to increase the validity and reliability of these tests. For output processing and obtaining the values of mean, difficulty of test items, discrimination index and Cronbach's Alpha If Item Deleted, the SPSS statistical program was used. The authors conducted an analysis of distractor functionality for multiple-choice-question tasks. The test items that failed to meet the defined criteria were changed or modified prior to a new round of test moderation. We expect that the statistical analysis, representing a beneficial element in improving tests and providing valuable feedback to the authors, will become an essential part of test development at the FEA language department. |
