Description | Sporadic colorectal cancer (CRC) represents an immense problem worldwide. Precise definition of all the potential contributors to the etiopathogenesis of CRC remains a challenge, when considering its high incidence especially in the Czech Republic. Large intestinal microbiota play a very important role, however, their involvement is underestimated. Inflammatory bowel disease (Crohns dinase and ulcerative colitis) belong to the problems of contemporary era. Our work has confirmed high importance of the large intestinal microbiota and their contribution to the etiopathogenesis of inflammatory bowel disease and colorectal carcinoma. Colonic microbiota have been underestimated and still remain a "frequently forgotten organ". Extensive research of all potential roles of large intestinal microbiota belongs to the challenges in the contemporary medicine. |
