| Description | Human cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection is the cause of serious infections in immunocompromised patients. Regular monitoring of serum viral load has become an integral part of the care for patients after stem cell transplantation. A number of diagnostic methods was developed for detection of CMV, from which molecular-biological methods are the most significant ones, especially quantitative real-time PCR. |
