Citation
Description This book is focused on prevailing concept of resources-driven conflicts in various regions around the globe. Several case studies, for example from Nile river basin, Myanmar or China, deal with traditional fossil fuels as well as renewable resources such as water, soil and timber. This broader scope of study allows to draw more general conclusion and helps to discover possible linkage between civil wars and environmental governance or sustainable development and failing states. Grounded in conflict history, every case study in the book offers insightful analysis of involved parties. Student of security studies or international relations would find this strong link between theoretical background and empirical data in every conflict area particulary useful, as well as practitioners from conflict management agencies, humanitarian organizations or armed forces.
