| Description | The paper presents some possibilities for research of metaphors in the view of argumentation analysis. A discussion in framework of pragma-dialectics is introduced on question: is metaphor a specific subtype of argumentation scheme of analogy or a device of strategic maneuvering? The reasons for the second possibility are mentioned, metaphor is approached as a device of strategic maneuvering, namely as a presentational device of various types of arguments. This approach is illustrated with a case study of use of metaphors in confrontation between Miroslav Tížik and Jan Paleček in journal Biograf in 2010. On the basis of reconstruction of their argumentation the possibilities of analysis of role of these metaphors are presented. |
