Description | The contribution deals with hand grip testing of boxers participating in 2010 Czech Republic championship. The aim of the study was to measure the parameters of hand grip dynamometry and thus to broaden the knowledge about testing boxers. We tested 87 2010 Czech Republic boxing championship participants. There were 71 men (21.8 ys, 178.4 cm, 72.2 kg, BMI 22.5) whose boxing carrer lasts 5.3 years in average and have had 61 fights in average so far. There were 16 women (23.9 ys, 168.8 cm, 62.7 kg, BMI 21.23) with 2.8 year-long career in average and 13 fights done in average. We measured the hand grip strength (N) and after converting the results into Newtons per kilogram of body weight (N/kg), we statistically evaluated the differences among weight categories. In men we measured hand grip strength in both right and left hand 458 N (6.6 N/kg in right hand and 6.4 N/kg in left hand), in women we measured 318 N (5.3 N/kg) for right hand and 294 N (4.9 N/kg) for left hand. The best results were achieved by middleweight category boxers. |
