Description | This contribution deals with possible changes in the institutional framework in the area of protection of the European Union’s financial interests. General budget of the EU is exposed to various forms of fraudulent behaviour or other illegal acts and the EU tries to prevent these frauds. Current actions taken by institutions such as OLAF, Eurojust or Europol do not seem to be sufficient. Therefore there are efforts to establish new institution – the European Public Prosecutor’s Office, which should effectively handle with weaknesses and limitations of current system. The contribution predicts how the establishment of the European Public Prosecutor’s Office could affect the other actors involved. |
