Description | The book deals with the social and technical aspects of modern information technologies, which, according to various survey results, should turn into significant trends in the field of information and communication technologies. The book looks not only into the technical solutions and their context given by current practical use, technology possibilities and user´s habits, but it is trying to show technologies from the point of view of their different use. Special attention focuses on the change of behaviour and work habits of users brought by usage of such technologies. The book is divided into five thematic parts. The first part deals with the issue of information society. The second part describes the main technological concepts which are reflected in general look of information and communication technologies. Attention is paid to Big Data and Virtualisation, the two concepts allowing expansion of modern technologies in the way which doesn't have any historical parallel. The subject of the third part is the human computer interaction. It presents semantic technologies which allow computers to search not only the data, but also information with the specific context and content. The computer processing of natural language is also mentioned, for example, transfer of written text into spoken language and vice versa, searching for full answers, etc. This part mentions also the Affective computing. This field of study works with emotional analysis used for system behaviour adjustment so that it's use would more user friendly. The fourth part is dedicated to net technologies. IPv6 brings new possibilities not only from the point of view of addressing, but also the safety and mobility support on the Internet. The last part of the book describes various approaches to programming. HTML offers the possibility of the applications development in the Internet environment and web services, Open Source leads to the effective programming and sharing of created codes. |
