| Description | Th e development of exotic tourism, migration of foreign nationals and the theoretical threat of biological terrorism, lead to increased risk of introduction and spread of various infectious diseases in our country. Most exotic disease is characterized by relatively high mortality and infectivity of infected persons. Because of this, it is very important to give an increased attention for handling with any died person for infectious disease and follow certain procedures to minimize the risk of further spread of the disease. Autopsies of dead bodies with infectious diseases should be done in BSL (Biohazard Safety Level) mode. BSL, i. e. the level of biological hazards expresses the degree of organizational and technical requirements of the workplace, where these autopsies are performed. Most workplaces in our country are conceived at BSL 2, which allows autopsies of deaths with diseases such as HVB, HVC, HIV, infl uenza viruses, etc. Th e only department in our country and unique in the world, which is designed to level BSL 4, is located in the center of biological control of the Army of the Czech Republic in Těchonín. In this work, we would like to introduce the issue of implementation of the infectious autopsies and mention some of the recommendations in force in accordance with our current legislation applicable in routine operations. |
