Description In forensic practice it is frequent that in some predilection sites the morphological fi nding is nonspecifi c. For example, macroscopic fi ndings in the soft tissue of the anterior side of neck are unclear without any mark of external violence. In these cases, it is necessary to pay a special attention to clarify the scope and mechanism of injury. Th e modifi ed anatomical in situ dissection with or without subsequent removal of organs may be with benefi ts. During the preparation it is necessary to keep maximum skin continuity because of neck reconstruction aft er the dissection and for etic purposes. Subsequently, individual muscular layers are uncovered, neural and vascular structures are prepared. Aft er dissection of the aforementioned structures, remaining neck organs are removed in normal way and explored. Described technique is useful in cases when the neck injury is suspected, especially in throttling, stab wounds and gunshot wounds.
