Description Questionnaires regarding the vector borne diseases have been filled by Czech and Polish students of natural sciences study at the university. It was a comparison between nationalities. Almost all respondents were aware of the risks and the name of at least one disease transmitted by ticks (in most cases, Lyme borreliosis). Czech students feel infections from ticks as a greater risk. Also suffered from Lyme borreliosis and were vaccinated against tick-borne encephalitis more than the Poles. This finding correlates with official statistics focused on the epidemiology of these diseases.
