Description This paper examines the issue of implementation of selected methods for evaluation of sector employment structure on the regional level. The most used methods are the index of specialisation, the localisation quotient and the gross index of diversification. By their implementation on real data of the Czech and the Slovak regions in 2012 some general expectations were verified. The values of the index of specialisation are very low in all regions. High values of the localisation quotient are reached in some sectors especially in capital regions and values of the gross index of diversification prove low rate of diversification. It was proved that regional employment structure has similar parameters in both countries.
