| Description | This paper deals with problems of impact of trade fairs in Brno on other subjects in the region. Fairs and exhibitions attract many visitors to the city and they spend money on accommodation, food and fun. Enterprises providing these services are influenced by the fairs. One of the most profiting sector is providing of accommodation, therefore the impact will be demonstrated on hotels, specifically on their pricing policy. Hotels react to the increased demand by raising the price of accommodation, if they are sure the interest in the accommodation is big enough. The aim of the paper is to find out how much are the prices raised during the most important fair in Brno, the International Engineering Fair. The pricing policy is analysed on the example both the nearest hotels and the hotels in longer distance from the trade fairs. The paper brings proofs of significant impact not only in Brno, but also in wider region. It brings also closer look on changes of accommodation prices. More than one hundred and sixty percent raise of prices was found out, which confirms strong and undeniable impact of fairs and exhibitions on enterprises in the region. |
