Description | The proceedings focuses on two national implementation of the Data Retention Directive namely the Czech and Austrian. Regulatory developments in the Czech Republic in the years 2009-2012 are summarized in the first paper by Jan Vobořil. This paper describes the practice of requesting of such data and focuses in particular on the Police data requests, brings statistics to the data in the past four years used and what changes have been made in connection with the Constitutional Court. The functioning, as well as other details of data retention legislation in Austria is presented in the second paper by Matěj Myška. Further, the English materials presented by Christof Tschohl who was responsible for the Austrian implementation of the Directive, as well as the chief technical manager of the project "Durchlaufstelle" Michael Schafferer are included. |
