Description The case study investigates the following question: What influence does the linking of the printed media with their news internet website have on work method and organization of the newsrooms and journalists? The research relates the Slovak daily SME and the Czech daily Mlada fronta Dnes. Considering technological development and economy (a multimedia journalist can manage more work) editors-in-chief more often require their journalists of the printed media to be skilful not only at writing but also to work even for web. Either an individual can work in a multimedia way or all the editorial staff can be a multimedia unit while the individuals focus on the particular multimedia activities. The research confirmed that the linking of the investigated mass media with the websites is changing work method and organization of the newsrooms and journalists. The changes are not radical but gradual, however the linking of the printed and web platforms constantly deepens.
