Description Smoking during pregnancy is the important and most preventable cause of possible ill health of both mother and fetus, or newborn human. It harms intrauterine fetal development, causes the reduced birth weight, the number of gestational and obstetric complications, and even can also lead to a long-term postnatal morbidities of the man exposed to tobacco in utero. Despite these serious health effects, many women don't stop smoking during pregnancy.
