| Description | Photography is a medium that has currently become a very natural and massively used mean of communication. Availability and ease of transfer of image lead to the point in which there in fact remains any theme captured now. Geography as well as photography deals with time and space. Thus, the presentation deals with a few questions resulting from this analogy and also hints some of the possible opportunities offered by photography to the geographical research followed by the examples of practical application of this media in contemporary geographical environment. In general, main attention is focused on the ways of representing geographical space with photographical image, particularly the questions of creation and further understanding of this representation. As an example works by a few of current Czech authors of subjective documentary photography dealing with various interpretations of space are used. As this case suggests, authors are using very wide palette of visual expressions in which they are able to represent the space in a highly suggestive and rich way. |
