Description | This study summarizes the current theoretical knowledge related to the process of creating the relationship of mother and father towards the expected baby. It discusses possible impacts of the existence and quality of this relationship on the later development of the relationship with the child, on the habits and health behaviour of the mother during pregnancy, on avoidance of risky behaviour of the mother during pregnancy or on well-being of the child before as well as after the birth. Relationship towards unborn baby may also be a predictor of later coping with stress associated with child care. The study also tries to map potential factors that may accelerate the establishment of close bond to the unborn child. The aim of this study is to present a recently created research method, which was designed to measure the relationship with the expected baby. This method serves as an alternative scale for the environment of the Czech Republic. The method was inspired by scale MAAS (Maternal Antenatal Attachment Scale), focusing on feelings, attitudes and behaviour of the mother towards the unborn child. |
