Description | The aim of the paper was to compare selected parameters which characterize the level of explosive force in volleyball players of two age categories – cadets and juniors – in different kinds of jumps: standing block jump, block jump after moving, and spike jump. Altogether, 13 cadets and 10 juniors were assessed; force dynamometric mat was used for the research. The parameters assessed were the average vertical reaction of the mat (Favg) and the value of maximum force impulse (Fmax). Both absolute and relative values of the reaction of the mat were evaluated. Almost in all kinds of jumps, juniors reached better results than cadets. In standing block jump, for Favg and Fmax, cadets reached 2.51 and 3.22 resp. multiple of their body weight (mBW); while juniors reached 2.48 and 3.35 mBW resp. In block jump after moving, cadets reached 2.76 and 3.93 mBW resp. and juniors 2.89 and 4.17 mBW resp. In spike jump, cadets reached 2.69 and 3.76 mBW resp. and juniors 3.00 and 4.52 mBW. The differences were not statistically significant in both block jumps, however they were significant in spike jump. This does not unequivocally prove higher qualities of older players in the area of explosive force of the lower extremities. |
