| Description | Today's multicultural upbringing and education enphasises 'otherness' (alterity) of other people. However, each child has to first accept their own 'otherness,. At the same time the child has to understand what is required to gain respect both of child's family as well as wider society. The article explores this issue using an example of two picture books for children - Poussin noir by Rascal and Peter Elliot, and Mimi l oreille by Grégoir Solotareff and Olga Lacaye. Both books are for pre-school children. |
