Description Lectins are creating an important group of proteins and glycoproteins, which are playing a major role in many physiological and pathological processes thanks to their ability to specifically recognize and reversible bind glycoconjugates. This study is focused on lectin PHL from pathogenic bacteria Photorabdus asymbiotica, which belongs together with lectin Photorabdus luminiscens and Photorabdus temperata to the Photorabdus family. The P. luminiscens and P.temperata are characterized as strict insect pathogens whereas the P. asymbiotica is additionally also a human pathogen causing mainly the infection of soft tissues.
