| Description | Basic criteria for the periodization of development of anthroponyms are presented on the background of anthroponyms originating in various languages. 1. The way identification of individuals was dealt with during various periods in the particular community at official level (e.g. one-element anthroponymic system in the Czech lands in the 12th century – Petrus), 2. type of social establishment that sets rules for using the particular anthroponymic system (e.g. a three-element anthroponymic system used for Roman citizens in ancient Rome – Gaius Iulius Caesar). |
