Description Solar energy for the production of electric energy is one source of renewable energy which is experiencing most development in recent years. The increasing spread of photovoltaic (PV) systems occuring nowadays does not always keep pace with respective llegislative initiatives, especially those regarding a specific relation between PV systems, the natural environment and landscape. While the development of Renewable Energy Sources (RES) is actively promoted by the government in general, from a legal point of view there aro no wquivalent preventive measures for the protection and preservation of physical environment and landscape aesthetics. This paper is intended to clarify the territorial impacts of the ground mounted photovoltaic systems.
