Description | The paper deals with slot machines as inventions which have been arousing admiration as well as being damned for several decades. The attention is focused on slot machines in the Czech legal environment and the legal environment of the U.S., as the country of their origin. A view on the issue is presented in both ways, historical and contemporary. The results of questionnaire research concerning the area of slot machines is incorporated in the paper and this paper also refers to the negative consequences brought on by addiction to this particular gaming obsession. The comparison of the Czech law as well as U.S. statutory regulation has not been neglected. |
