Description | Anemia in the elderly is common and is usually mild and in most cases > 100 g /l. However, it is not only associated with higher morbidity and even mortality. The prevalence of new anemia increases compared to 65-69-year-old (3-4%) of people for the 85th year at the age of two to three times.
